Boat to Drottningholm Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site – SEK 250

Delegates will be treated to a magnificent one-hour boat cruise through Lake Mälaren on a charming Edwardian-era vessel before arriving at Drottningholm Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Drottningholm Palace is the official residence of the Swedish Royal Family with several beautiful parks and green areas to experience. Enjoy the luscious palace park with its beautiful landscape design, historic theatre and artful Chinese pavilion.

The boat leaves from central Stockholm (Klara Mälarstrand – a short walk from the Waterfront Congress Centre) at 13.00 and arrives Drottningholm at 13:55. Return trips to Stockholm depart from Drottningholm at 14:00, 15:00 or 16:00.

Participants should make their way to the boat by 12:30. The harbor is 850m away from the Waterfront Congress Centre, which is ~11min walking distance. Volunteers will help delegates find their way to the boat.

Archipelago Boat Tour with Guide – SEK 345

See the best of the Stockholm archipelago! This is the perfect boat sightseeing tour when you are looking to discover the best and most beautiful parts of the Stockholm archipelago in a short period of time. During our 2.5-to-3-hour long tour, our knowledgeable (English speaking) guide on board will share little anecdotes and tell you all there is to know about the various historical, cultural, and natural sights we pass on our way. Enjoy a journey full of beautiful attractions and fascinating stories while you relax and take in the famous scenery of the archipelago. You can also enjoy on-board cooked lunch in the beautiful dining room while listening to the guide. 

S/S Stockholm leaves from central Stockholm (Strandvägen – a short walk from the Waterfront Congress Centre) at 15:00 and travels to Vaxholm before returning to Stockholm, Strandvägen at 18:00. 

Participants should make their way to the boat by 14:30. The harbor is 1.6km away from the Waterfront Congress Centre, which is ~20min walking distance. Alternatively, you can take public transit (bus 69, which leaves from in front of the Congress Center, goes directly to the boat – get off the bus at the Nybroplan stop – with the journey taking ~11 minutes). Volunteers will help delegates who would like to take public transit to get to the boat.

Hernö Gin Tasting – SEK 450

Hernö Gin is Sweden’s first gin producer and the world’s northernmost gin distillery. Hernö Gin is the most awarded craft gin producer, having been awarded the producer of World’s Best Gin every year since 2015. Now is your chance to find out why! In this excursion, you will be treated to a blind tasting of a range of Hernö gins and learn about the history of gin and Hernö Gin. Space is limited to this excursion will be awarded on a first come basis. 

The gin tasting will take place at Hernö Gin on Sunday, July 31. The venue is located on the nearby island of Södermalm (Hornsgatan 1, 118 46 Stockholm). 

The venue is 1.6km away from the Waterfront Congress Centre, which is ~20min walking distance. Alternatively, you can take public transit (metro red or green line, which leaves from in front of the Congress Center, goes directly to the tasting – get off the metro at the Slussen stop – with the journey taking ~8 minutes). Volunteers will help delegates who would like to take public transit to get to the venue. 

When you arrive at the venue just show your badge and they will let you in. Please note that we we have two time slots for the tasting at 13.30 and 16.00. You have been assigned a time slot by email if you signed up for the tasting.

ISBE Football Tournament

Forget the World Cup – the ISBE football tournament is the real premier global football event! The ISBE football tournament takes place during the mid-conference break. Participation is free. If you are interested in playing you can sign up during registration. 

The football tournament will take place from 14:00-18:00 at Stadshagens IP park on Sunday, July 31. The park is located on the nearby island of Kungsholmen (St Göransgatan 130, 112 45 Stockholm). 

Players should make their way to the park by 14:00. The park is 2.5km away from the Waterfront Congress Centre, which is ~30min walking distance. Alternatively, players can take public transit (bus 65, which leaves from in front of the Congress Centre, goes directly to the park – get off the bus at the Kellgrensgatan stop – with the journey taking ~12 minutes). Volunteers will help players who would like to take public transit get to the fields. Players are asked to bring water and to wear appropriate clothing for the games.

The tournament will be arranged in a series of qualifying games, culminating in a semi-final and final match. Details will depend on the number of teams that sign up, which will be clear by Sunday morning.

The Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre is located in the heart of central Stockholm, in striking distance of the many museums (many of which have free entry), bars, restaurants, and cultural sites that are found in the city center. We will offer specific suggestions closer to the conference.
